Overview Asiaphil
Manufacturing Industries, Inc. has been a leader in the Philippines’ electrical
industry since 1973. All these started with the vision and persistence
of one man -- its founder Mr. Guillermo T. Batungbacal. His achievements
and accomplishments in the field of electrical manufacturing
and contracting established himself as the pioneer in the industry.
What started as a home business with a handful of friends and
a start-up capital of only P373,840.00 -- is now a modern facility
catering to a wide range of industrial, commercial and residential
applications.
Early in 1980, Cutler-Hammer, Inc. (a leading high-quality products
and systems manufacturer in U.S.A.) invested up to 30% of equity
in the company. The investment raised the company’s net
worth to P3,377,000. Local stockholders in the view of four considerations
welcomed the Cutler Hammer investment:
- Transfer of higher technology from Cutler-Hammer
to Asiaphil
- Lower Production cost arising from transfer pricing of
components to the company
- Product quality reputation of Cutler-Hammer in the electrical
industry
- Probable expansion into the Asian and Middle East export
market
The company was renamed Asiaphil Cutler-Hammer, Inc., and its
board was increased from 7 to 10, to accommodate 3 nominees from
Cutler-Hammer. The company also expanded its services to include
a Contracting Division.
In February 17, 1983, the company again was renamed Asiaphil
Manufacturing Industries, Inc. so that it may market a wider
range of products and services.
From thereon, Asiaphil aggressively developed and improved its
manufacturing facilities and its engineering and production techniques.
Over the years, the company acquired state-of-the-art Computerized
Numerically Controlled (CNC) sheet metal and busbar fabrication
equipment, metal preparation & powder painting equipment
and pneumatic tools. The whole manufacturing process was streamlined
and stringent quality control measures were introduced. Moreover
Asiaphil’s vision grew to encompass foreign markets as
well.
Asiaphil is also engaged in the power generation business. One
of its project is a 2.3MW power-generating facility which supplies
electricity solely to the Coca-Cola Bottler’s plant in
Bulacan at a lower rate than that of the local provider. Asiaphil
is one of the first Filipino companies to build, own and operate
such a facility. In addition, another 2.3MW power generation
facility is currently supplying power to an island utility company.
Asiaphil has always been committed to attaining the highest
quality standards. Today, the company enjoys a prestigious reputation
in the local and global market. As proof our our commitment to
superior quality in our products and services, we have, since
1998, been merited an ISO 9001 certification from the International
Standards Organization (ISO). This certification ensures customers
and end-users that all products of Asiaphil are at par with the
world’s best.
In April of the year 2002, the sheet metal fabrication section
was spun-off and made into a separate entity, under the name
Asiaphil Metal Manufacturing Industries, Inc. Aside from fabrication,
this company also houses the metal treatment, powder painting
and machine shop facilities.
In the same year, the HOPE financing was established, providing
financial assistance to EDUs (Electrical Distribution Utilities).
In the year 2003, the manufacturing section was further separated
from Asiaphil, naming it Asiaphil Electric, Inc. This new company
is a complete unit of its own.
Asiaphil Manufacturing Industries, Inc. is now focused primarily
on Project Management, Field Service and Contract Maintenance.
Asiaphil is continuously improving itself to be a reliable and
dependable electrical contractor. All these are based on our
continuing commitment to provide quality services that are completed
on time at an affordable price.
